Pursuing and Recovering All

Pursuing and Recovering All

This Month’s Devotional: Restoration—God’s Goodness and Faithful Covenant

Pursuing and Recovering All: Week 2

Scripture(s):
1 Samuel 30:8 (KJV) — "And David enquired at the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all."

Genesis 45:5 (KJV) — "Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life."

Nehemiah 5:12 (NLT) — "They replied, “We will give back everything and demand nothing more from the people. We will do as you say.” Then I called the priests and made the nobles and officials swear to do what they had promised."

Isaiah 40:31 (KJV) — "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

Romans 12:2 (TPT) — "Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think..."

1 John 3:8 (AMPC) — "[But] he who commits sin [who practices evildoing] is of the devil [takes his character from the evil one], for the devil has sinned (violated the divine law) from the beginning. The reason the Son of God was made manifest (visible) was to undo (destroy, loosen, and dissolve) the works the devil [has done]."

Reflection:
Restoration is not passive—it requires faith-filled action. When David faced devastating loss, he sought the Lord, and God commanded him to pursue, overtake, and recover all. Restoration in God’s Kingdom often involves stepping forward in faith, trusting His promises. Like Joseph, who endured betrayal yet later saw God’s purpose in preserving lives, your setbacks can be divine setups for greater restoration.

As you wait on the Lord, He renews your strength, empowering you to walk boldly in His purpose. The enemy's schemes cannot withstand the power of God's covenant! Ask God for direction, then move forward with confidence, knowing that what was lost will be restored.

💡 Reflection Question: What is God calling you to "pursue" in this season? Take one bold step today toward reclaiming what belongs to you.
